The Indigenous Church

 God’s Church is made up of people who have put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and have been born again by the Holy Spirit. The members of God’s Church come from many different nationalities with each having their own culture. Even though people may be different from each other by the color of their skin, language and their way of life, in God’s sight we are all brothers and sisters in the Lord and therefore belong to the family of God.

Because of the love of Christ in our hearts we can love each other, respect each other and appreciate each other. God has led His Church in each nationality of people to serve Him. The nationals preach His Word and share His love and as a result their own people are won into God’s family.

God needs His Church among the native people of Canada.

God is on a mission building His Church. The Body of Christ, the Family of God, the Church has many members of which the Native Church is a part. The Lord is on a move building His Native Church. The Lord in a wonderful way has given birth to His Church among the Indian people that is independent and indigenous. This Church goes under the name of the Native Evangelical Fellowship of Canada, Inc. The Bigger Picture in Indian missions is the National Native Church. The Dream of a National Native Church is a reality. The National Native Church is growing spiritually. Praise His Name!

Purpose

The chief purpose of the Native Evangelical Fellowship of Canada is to up-lift and glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. When the Lord Jesus is lifted up He will draw all men to Himself. The Native Evangelical Fellowship of Canada exists for the purpose of bringing lost souls to the saving knowledge of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Uniqueness

The Native Evangelical Fellowship of Canada Inc. is an indigenous organization, historically led by Native Christians.  It gives true representation to the native people of Canada in seeking to meet the native people’s need. NEFC recognizes the difference of the native people to the rest of Canada in their own culture, religion, customs, language and lifestyle. NEFC emphasizes indigenous evangelism as a means of reaching the native people with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Primary Goal

The primary goal of NEFC is to see a strong living indigenous national native church in Canada. NEFC yearns to participate in sharing the good news of the gospel in every reserve, village, town and city across Canada.

NEFC was raised up to meet the spiritual needs among Native people and thus deal with the many problems within the Indian Nation. The NEFC encourages responsibility, initiative and participation for the cause of Christ on the part of Native Christians.

Enlarging Our Tent

We Native Christians are reminding ourselves that the commands Jesus gave to those early Christians apply to us also. In some ways our heritage as Aboriginals sets us up for some unique and significant inroads to take the gospel to the ends of the earth!
